GirlTech 2.0 group

Opole

MiniGrant:
Workshop on the basics of electrical engineering for girls

“Girls’ lack of interest in sciences that are based on mathematics and physics results in a lack of interest in continuing studies in technical fields”

About the group

GirlTech 2.0 is a group of three lovers of technology and innovation who want to instill in other girls the love for creating new things, using electrical engineering and new technologies.
The group already has experience in conducting technological workshops for young people. Based on it, they know that there is a need for actions aimed at girls aged 13-16. It is a group that is great with manual tasks, stereotypically proposed to boys. Girls have great ideas, but they don ‘t believe in themselves or their skills.

“We would like to start a series of technical workshops for girls to show that they can create cosmic things in the male world without any help”

About the action

GirlTech 2.0 intends to organize a series of workshops on the basics of electrical engineering for girls finishing primary school and/or starting secondary school. Their aim will be to bring the participants closer to the basics of electronic systems operation , thus enabling them to learn and experience the exact sciences from their practical side. Participation in workshops is also an opportunity to learn new skills that can turn into passion and future work. The girls will build many systems themselves, which they will then test and modify, all while having fun.
