Feminist Emergency Service: urgent grant for an information campaign on sexual violence using the so-called “rape pill” (roofie)

About the group

Recently, we have heard a lot of stories about falling victim to roofies, abuse, and shame which does not allow people to talk – even with loved ones – about what they experienced at a bar or a club.

Chemistry is a feminist collective that focuses on fighting against sexual violence. The group was brought together by stories of persons who were given GHB, i.e. rape pills, in bars or clubs. This problem intensified in the summer, after the clubs were opened when the pandemic regulations had been relaxed.

About the action

As part of the Feminist Emergency Service grant, the collective wants to organize a large information campaign on sexual violence with the use of a rape pill in bars and clubs – above all, to hang posters and prepare materials for social media. The group also plans to work directly with employees and bar staff to make them more aware of how to recognize symptoms of GHB poisoning and what to do in such cases.

Grant amount: PLN 2400
