Sex Work Poland comprises persons working in the sexual service industry and their allies, an approximate total of 25 persons resident in different cities across Poland: Gdańsk, Łódź, Poznań, Szczecin, Warsaw, and Wrocław. Sex Work Poland supports sex workers basing on principles of trust, and by assisting processes tying in with self-organisation and self-determination of girls and women. Sex Work Poland are a feminist group recognising the agency and empowerment of persons working in the sexual service industry – persons engage in sex work as a result of diverse needs, decisions, and contexts.
Sex Work Poland engages chiefly in community self-organisation through outreach – direct contacts and visits to locations associated with sexual service performance. Fundamental activities include conversations, accompanying sex workers and expanding knowledge of their needs, working conditions, and issues with access to rights, proper healthcare, and safety. Crucial components of Sex Work Poland activities include securing space for mutual support and education – preventing isolation and self-stigmatisation in sex work.
