MiniGrant: regenerative trip for 10 girls aged 16-18 who constantly benefit from the support of the Foundation and open body work workshops for teenagers from the Tri-City.

About the group

We have a regular group of teenagers who come to our workshops and use the forms of support we provide. Most often they are persons who are looking for a friendly and accepting place where they can be themselves, and where their stories, experiences and needs are simply respected.

Wave of New Culture is a foundation from Gdansk, founded with the aim of creating a safe space for artistic and social activities for young people. Some of the topics that are important for the group are creative self-expression, well-being, body acceptance, and mental health. As part of its activities, the group organizes artistic workshops, but also psychological support and projects strengthening the well-being of young people.

The aim of our foundation was to provide social and educational activities for young people. However, it soon turned out that the workshops are mainly attended by teenagers struggling with mental health crises (…) Due to violence directed at the body, they face eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and frighteningly low self-acceptance of themselves and their bodies.

About the action

As part of the MiniGrant, the Wave of New Culture Foundation will organize a regenerative trip, raising self-acceptance and body awareness for teenagers associated with the foundation. The group’s activity is an element of a wider systemic support, including psychological and activation support as well as projects strengthening well-being.
