“Two Wings UA” Foundation
Olsztyn
MiniGrant: A group of refugees will organize integration and networking meetings for women – refugees from Ukraine, with a goal to foster mutual support and build a community.
About the group
We build a community that sets an example and opens eyes, doors, and hearts. We are pleased with the changes in every person, in every family that has found the strength to stay in a safe place, with every decision to continue supporting Ukraine.
“Two Wings UA” Foundation was established on the initiative of 40 refugees living in Olsztyn. Since 2022, the group has been conducting weekly meetings and activities, thanks to which it enjoys great trust and recognition among the local community. Their Facebook group “Two Wings UA” now connects more than 700 families. Being close to the community allows the Foundation to respond to various problems and plan activities that are most needed at the moment. Members of the Foundation want to build a strong community, combat discrimination against women from Ukraine and protect their rights, as well as change the approach to refugees in Polish society.
It is unacceptable that women who came to Poland to save their children from the war were treated like cheap workforce who can be accommodated in inhumane conditions, offered minimum wages and the least comfortable working hours, without considering their needs, their children and the lack of choice they experience.
About the action
“Two Wings UA” Foundation sees the need to unite women from Ukraine in order to effectively counteract their discrimination and marginalization. Hence the idea to organize a series of meetings addressed to refugee women using the MiniGrant, thanks to which they will be able to get to know each other, learn from each other, and support each other.
Grant amount: 5300 PLN
