The needs of refugee mothers with children in Poland
Warszawa, Kijów
Feminist Emergency Service: urgent grant dedicated to study the needs of mothers who came to Poland from Ukraine with children
About the group
The group was created spontaneously at the initiative of Yana, who, after the invasion by Russia, came to Poland from Kiev with her son. She noticed systemic problems related to access to nursery and pre-school care for refugee children – and the lack of such solutions makes it difficult for women to live an independent life in Poland, find a flat or work. Together with her colleagues, she decided to check what exactly the refugees coming to Poland need.
About the action
The Feminist Emergency Grant will be used to prepare a survey and interviews with refugee mothers. On this basis, recommendations will be made regarding changes in the Act on refugees from Ukraine of 12 March 2022. The team hopes that this will provide specific, comprehensive support for those caring for children.
Grant amount: PLN 3,000
