Stoneless Foundation

Warsaw

Power Grant

First of all, we focus on daily support of the stoneless and educating about the MRKH syndrome and what is associated with it.

The cornerstone and main motivation for founding the Stoneless Group – currently Foundation – has been to actively support persons with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome, as well as raise awareness and educate the public and specialists about MRKH syndrome. Stoneless persons face a variety of problems that are grounded in the fact that the system is dysfunctional on many levels – from the situation in doctors’ offices, through limited access to information about the MRKH syndrome, or access to rehabilitation equipment (dilators). The Facebook self-help group currently consists of 265 stoneless persons, and the Foundation’s support is also used by their families and loved ones. In 2022, the first large meeting of stoneless persons took place in real life!

For some time, we have felt that the actions we undertake and the issues we struggle with on a daily basis are addressed to all persons with female experience, patients who have suffered social or medical exclusion due to their diverse sexual characteristics.

About the action

Support for stoneless persons: ranging from self-help support to the possibility of co-financing/financing medical, psychological, urophysiotherapy visits and rehabilitation equipment, is a priority of the Foundation. Another important long-term goal is education about MRKH syndrome, in particular addressed to medical professionals, who are finishing their studies or beginning their professional practice. Stoneless patients want to focus on the systemic improvement of patient-physician communication, also by strengthening the presence of patient groups during medical education and professional practice.

One of the most important goals that we are striving for – and it’s already happening – is to involve more stoneless persons in the activities of the group/ foundation.
