Feminist Emergency Service: urgent grant for the issuance of solidarity zine in connection with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine

About the group

Requeer is a feminist collective that describes itself as “comrades in common struggle”. As they write, they do not operate under any permanent banner, because they care about real help for others, not building capital and the image of their group. Requeer has organized, among others, a benefit event Queer Attack and they are involved in educational events.

About the action

With the strategy of creating art, which is close to our hearts, we want, first of all, to show support for people affected by the consequences of the Kremlin’s totalitarian drives.

After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the collective decided to show support for people from Ukraine and prepare a solidarity zine. Its content is co-created by persons from Ukraine and allies from Poland and Belarus. Requeer will also organize a benefit, and the profits from the sale will be transferred to aid transgender persons from Ukraine who need support, and due to the obligation of military service cannot leave the country.
