MoKKKa Foundation
Bydgoszcz
MiniGrant: MoKKKa Foundation will organize a series of workshops and “Witchcraft” meetings for caregivers – mothers of people with disabilities and accompanying sensory and integration activities for children.
O grupie
Our mission is to work on empowering women, especially those in difficult life situations, as well as on building sisterhood. We already have three years of practice in such activities, as well as our own experience, since we have “unusual” children.
The MoKKKa Foundation consists of four women with experience in supporting mothers of children and adults with disabilities. They organize meetings of various types, but they always focus on resting from the difficulties of everyday life, on development, working on talents and skills, and a good, supportive atmosphere. The participants of the meetings include a poet, handicraftswomen, photographers and enthusiasts of various fields of art. The group works to fill the systemic gap of lack of respite care and assistantship, and a number of other systemic and social difficulties faced by mothers of children as well as adults with disabilities.
The recipients of our activities are, for the most part, single mothers of one or several dependent, disabled children, who are not employed, go unnoticed by the system, and seem “transparent” to other people: they are perceived only as carers, and not as women with their own needs, who have the right to pursue them, satisfy them, and above all – have them.
About the action
The group will organize a series of workshops and meetings for moms, including a meeting “Woman in Art” (with an exhibition of works by moms themselves!), herbal workshops, intuitive painting and making motankas (Slavic wish dolls), and an outing to the theater/concert together. MoKKa also plans an information, counseling, and discussion meeting with specialists in the field of social, legal, and systemic assistance regarding all aspects of functioning of a person with disabilities and their environment. Activities for mothers will be accompanied by care/animation as well as sensory and integration activities for children.
