Marcistanki group

Stanowice, Marcinkowice

MiniGrant:
Development workshops and meetings, integrating the local women’s community and connecting generations

“Our community can be called patchwork – local women in adulthood and young, migrant persons with children. We want to connect generations of women”

About the group

Marcistanki is a group of women from two neighboring villages who decided to do something for themselves and other women from their community. They are trying to transform the group into a Village Housewives’ Association. They started a group because they needed to find their space and build themselves a “village”. They are a migrant community (from larger cities), have small children, and live in the countryside. The group was created to integrate the community, primarily women, to support each other in motherhood and personal development.

“Our actions are to make our piece of the world better, cooler, friendlier – we’re going to really make it OURS!”

About the action

Marcistanki’s dream is to create a safe haven for women, where they can meet, integrate, and learn from each other. At the same time, they want to support local entrepreneurs and craftswomen, and they will achieve both of these goals by conducting workshops, development meetings, and sports and integration events. Marcistanki planned workshops on creating forests in glass, macramé, ceramic and crochet workshops, breakfast on the grass combined with yoga and pilates. In cooperation with their village authorities, they will also organize an experience day, ending with outdoor cinema.
