Madness Collective

Krosno

MiniGrant: Madness Collective consisting of young queers and allies will organize the Second Equality March in Krosno and accompanying events: a screening of feminist and queer films, banner making workshops.

About the group

Our activities focus on involving young queer persons from Krosno and the surrounding area. We want to build a sense of community, solidarity and equality through our actions, while providing space for free expression of identity for all young queers in the Podkarpacie region.

Madness Collective consists of young queers and allies from Krosno. Their motivation is to create a space where everyone can be themselves and feel safe. In their actions, they focus on showing acceptance, equality, and respect for all. This is especially important due to the fact that Krosno is a small city in a conservative region of Poland, where until recently there existed the so-called “LGBT-free zones”. Since the beginning of its activity in 2021, Madness Collective has organized many events, including: “Queer Podkarpacie”, the First Equality March in Krosno, “Youth with Palestine”. Their events are open to all and foster the creation of a community based on mutual understanding and support.

We know that there is a lack of space and events in the area where queer people can safely express themselves. By organizing the Equality March for the second time, we want to create an event where young queer people can feel accepted and understood by their community.

About the action

The collective will organize the Second Equality March in Krosno and accompanying events, such as a screening of feminist and queer films and banner-making workshops. They will also create a volunteer group to support the preparations for the March. The collective predicts that about 200 people will show up during the March and be willing to co-create this queer space!
