Activists aged 45-50 and older will organize workshops for their sisters, friends, and colleagues on mature sexuality and menopause.
About the group
We do not want Women plus to feel invisible, ashamed, often ridiculed. We do not want them to withdraw from social life. We want to be able to speak and be heard. We have the right to age “with dignity” or “without dignity”, as we want, without social judgments and marginalization.
Ladies Plus is a group of women aged 45-50 and more, social activists from Konin, who fight discrimination and social exclusion of persons in pre-senior age. They draw attention to the difficulties faced by women of their age: progressive marginalization and infantilization, “invisibility” on the labor market, but also – assessing their value only on the basis of age and appearance. Ladies Plus want to support each other, have a positive impact on their self-esteem, and talk about aging seriously – without taboos, without feeling ashamed and trivializing their experiences.
During the workshops we want to give ourselves a space to breathe, to take a break from judging ourselves and each other, and let ourselves be carried away by mature femininity and joy.
About the action
As part of the MiniGrant, Ladies Plus will organize workshops for women aged 45-50 and older on menopausal psychology, sexology of adulthood, and health. They want to advertise the workshops in the local media so that the topic of the situation of a woman in transition and pre-senior age is heard for the first time in Konin. The workshop will be an opportunity to get to know and understand one’s body better and to familiarize oneself with topics related to adult sex.
