About the group

The vision of the Interaction Foundation is absolute respect for the human rights of intersex people/people with different sexual characteristics in Poland, ensuring them complete social equality and non-discrimination in all areas of life, especially in respect for physical autonomy, identity, and gender expression.

Interaction Foundation was established to support and represent the interests of intersex people and their loved ones. The purpose of Interaction is to increase public awareness and acceptance of intersexuality and to emancipate intersex people – to bring about a state in which intersex people can decide for themselves about their bodies (Our Bodies – Our Rights!) and have legal protection against discrimination on the basis of sexual characteristics.

Our actions have a positive impact on attitudes and behaviors regarding the assessment and acceptance of the appearance of other people and overcoming gender stereotypes.

About the action

The Foundation runs support and development groups for adults born with different sexual characteristics and their loved ones – parents/ carers. Meetings build a sense of community, develop a sense of acceptance for bodily diversity, and also support people in being self-reliant. The next step of Integration will be to create a support program for intersex adolescents. The Foundation’s priorities for the coming years are also the introduction of legal protection due to sexual characteristics and activities aimed at creating a multidisciplinary center offering health care for adults within the framework of the National Health Fund (currently it does not exist) and the continuation of activities increasing public awareness of intersexuality.

We want intersex people/people with different sexual characteristics to be a supportive community, one in which they can help each other.
