MiniGrant: workshops for women on autotherapy of scars after an episiotomy and caesarean section, with elements of relaxation and physiotherapeutic and psychological consultations.
About the group
We want to educate women on how to care for their scars, as many of them are left without this knowledge. We would like women who have experienced trauma during childbirth to rebuild their self-esteem and faith in their own capabilities.
HealthFound is an initiative from Czluchow, consisting of three specialists: Dagmara – a midwife and urological physiotherapist, Dominika – a psychotherapist and sexologist, and Joanna – a physiotherapist and initiator of the project. In their work, they met many women for whom childbirth, the negative effects of an episiotomy or ailments resulting from a caesarean section were traumatic experiences. They also noticed that after giving birth, mothers do not receive proper support, which is why they face difficulties alone. Due to the lack of an offer of support for mothers and limited access to many services in the field of perinatal care in Czluchow, the activists decided to take matters into their own hands and provide this support themselves.
Women after childbirth believe that all the ailments they experience are the norm and they have to come to terms with them. Therefore, we have set ourselves the mission of creating educational workshops for women.
About the action
As part of the MiniGrant, HealthFound activists plan to conduct workshops in the field of autotherapy of scars after an episiotomy and caesarean section. They believe that this is an unattended and quite effectively overlooked topic in the world of obstetrics and gynecology, although, from the perspective of recovery and convalescence of mothers, it is extremely important. During the workshops, the participants will have access to reliable knowledge and the opportunity to take advantage of free physiotherapeutic and psychological consultations.
Grant amount: 5300 PLN
