Green Goose Theatre

Swidnica

MiniGrant:
Preparation of an intergenerational performance on sex education at home

“This is the story of women who were wise with life. It was them who fought to make their daughters’ lives better as best they could, so that they would not be abused; teach them how to take care of themselves, their dignity, their right to decide. We are of them”

About the group

Green Goose Theater is a team of over a dozen women, seniors 70+, working under the care of a director and a costume designer. The most often collected stories of actresses, dressed in fairy tales or everyday history, constitute the basis of the scripts of the performances. They are an invaluable lesson concerning the past of women in pre- and post-war time. According to the group, these herstories enable a better understanding of their femininity – hard, often sexually unfulfilled, defined by the role of The Polish Mother.

“We believe that our Theatre is a place of change. The values that we carry are invaluable – from preventing exclusion, depression, dementia, loneliness, through remembering ordinary/unusual stories of women, to moving emotions and reflection in the viewer”

About the action

The theater’s creators will prepare a new performance, this time intergenerational – young girls will also be invited to participate in it. In the play, they will discuss the topic of sex education at home – how mature women talk about it with their daughters and granddaughters.
The aim of the performance is to provoke thought and discussion both in peer groups and in the intergenerational dimension. The group wants to
stimulate persons in the audience to reflect on their own beliefs and values related to sexuality.
