Golebnik Climate Activism Centre
Cracow
Feminist Emergency Service: an urgent grant to keep renting the premises and organize an anti-burnout and empowerment training for climate activists.
About the group
We feel part of the feminist movement because the fight for a just climate transition is a fight based on intersectionality and noticing the inequalities that surround us. It requires understanding that the climate catastrophe will, in the first place, negatively affect those who are non-white, non-heteronormative, and without a stable income.
The group consists mainly of students and young working people. For years, they have been appearing in various spaces to speak louder and louder about inequalities in the context of climate, and not only about the need to achieve net zero. Unfortunately, due to financial problems, the group may lose the premises in which it operates.
About the action
We want to bring back lost enthusiasm to climate activism in Cracow. (…) For many of us, Golebnik Climate Activism Center is a safe space where every person can be heard and cared for. Regenerating and supporting each other is crucial in the fight for a just transition.
The grant will be used to pay rent for the premises and equip it with additional elements warming the space. The group will also organize anti-burnout and empowerment training for climate activists. The group wants to share the premises with other initiatives that need space to operate, as well as organize open days.
Grant amount: PLN 3,000
