Foundation Now Street

Bielsko-Biala

MiniGrant:
Supporting women in homelessness crisis – ensuring access to gynecological care and hygiene products

“We believe in the equality of rights for women, men, non-binary and transgender persons, and others. We identify with the restoration of “own value” and inner strength in all those in whom it was trampled at a certain stage of life”

About the group

Now Street is a foundation in Bielsko-Biala, founded by activists, previously operating as part of the informal initiative Food not Bombs. Important topics for the group are the fight against discrimination, pro-female activism, actions for the excluded and those at risk of exclusion. Thanks to the foundation, it will be possible to create conditions for meaningful help (going beyond distributing food or clothing), leading to an improvement in the life situation.
As part of its activities, the group will also conduct workshops aimed at strengthening the self-esteem of persons in homelessness crisis and expanding skills useful in everyday functioning.

“Women in homelessness crisis that we meet have no way of taking care of their health, appearance, and safety”

About the action

As part of the MiniGrant, the Foundation will purchase personal hygiene products and provide gynecological and hairdressing services to women in homelessness crisis and at risk of homelessness from Bielsko-Biala and the surrounding area.
The work of the group is part of a broader systemic support, including psychological and legal support, as well as workshops building social skills and supporting activation.
