Association Omnes

Piekary Slaskie

Members of the association will organize a support group for parents of persons with disabilities to create a space for exchange of experiences and mutual support.

About the group

We show that mothers of children with disabilities are not exigent – they are women aware of their rights, who are often alone in their struggle to survive. The state gives us a laughable allowance, deprives us of the opportunity to legally earn money while our children are in schools and care centers.

OMNES Association was founded by 6 women for whom the welfare of people with disabilities (PwD) and their families is important – in particular, the welfare of mothers. The organization was formed out of rage at how PwD and caregivers are treated, and its goal was to initiate real changes at the local level. Today, OMNES Association comprises of 26 persons who collectively set the direction of its activities and development. The members of the group help and support each other by forming a women’s circle in which they feel heard.

In fact, none of us is under the constant supervision of a psychologist. We don’t have time, we don’t have money, we think we are strong, and we can do it. At the same time, it turned out that in a group of people with a similar problem, we open up more easily, we are not afraid of tears, admitting weakness, doubt or anxiety and depressive states.

About the action

Members of OMNES care about the psychological well-being of mothers of children with disabilities, which is why they plan to create a support group with a psychologist as part of the MiniGrant. In the immediate vicinity, none of them have the opportunity to use this type of help even privately, although every one of them needs it very much.
